Narragansett Art Festival
The Rotary Club of Wakefield will celebrate our 26th Annual Narragansett Art Festival, a Fine-Art-Only event, on June 21st and 22nd, 2008 at Veterans' Park, adjacent to the Historic "Towers" and overlooking Narragansett Pier Beach
Whether you're an artist interested in participating, or someone looking for just the right piece of artwork to take home, we invite you to join us for another great Narragansett Art Festival. Enjoy a beautiful weekend and the work of 90 artists who exhibit and sell their work in oils & acrylics, watercolors, drawing & graphics, sculpture, photography, and 3-dimensional or other media. There are no "functional art" exhibitors (pottery, jewelry, crafts, etc.) in this Annual Festival. Although this art show is unjuried, the diversity and quality of the work presented is outstanding!
2008 ACGOW Regional Art Exhibit
The Artist's Cooperative Gallery of Westerly is holding it's Regional Show of 2008, a juried exhibit open to local and regional artists. Held annually in the Spring, this exhibit features some of the most diverse artwork seen in the gallery all year. Exceptional work is recognized in various categories and accompanied by cash prizes and gift certificates.
All fine art and craft media eligible. All work must be original, one of a kind, and not previously exhibited at the gallery. Works must be for sale. NFS and POR not accepted. Work to be hung must be suitable framed and finished and ready to hang with screw eyes and wire attached.

SWAN Day Festival to Premiere in Rhode Island
SWAN (Support Women Artists Now) Day is a new international holiday that celebrates women artists. This new event will take place annually on the last Saturday of March, designated by Congress as Women’s History Month. The first SWAN Day will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2008. As a symbol of international solidarity, there will be events featuring women artists all over the world.

Scenes of Rhode Island
Governor Donald Carcieri and the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts invite Rhode Island Artists to submit work for the Scenes of Rhode Island Exhibit and Awards. Works must be two-dimensional, original works of art that in some way depict the Ocean State and that have not been previously entered into the Scenes of Rhode Island Exhibition and Awards, nor have been reproduced or widely shown. The Scenes of Rhode Island Exhibition and Awards were established as a partnership between the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts and the Governor’s Office for the purpose of providing the Governor and Mrs. Carcieri with an original one-of-a-kind image of Rhode Island for personal and professional use and distribution, and to the promote the artistic talent and aesthetic beauty of the state.
